Let me start off by saying thank you for taking the time to read this blog and click through my site. I realize in this day and age of technology that there is an overabundance of information out there, especially when it comes to all things music. I realize that I may not have this long list of artists I've worked with, awards I've won, or years of experience in the industry to back up my name and try and persuade you to read what I have to say and really soak it in, but I'm going to do something a little different where none of that really matters. Welcome to Soul Unity Music...
I have been fortunate enough the past few years to find myself in various jobs and/or internships dealing with different aspects of the music world, and I have come to realize that there is something missing. Take a minute and think about all of the articles that you have read and YouTube videos you've watched since beginning your own journey in the world of music. If you want to learn about compression, how to record better vocals, make a killer drop, or get bigger, deeper, punchier kicks all you have to do is search online and there will be easily 2 dozen or more videos and articles/blog posts you can watch and read. Just about any subject/topic for producing or the business of being an independent artist is out there waiting for the next aspiring artist, manager, producer, or audio engineer to read. While all of those aspects are important, I've come to realize throughout the jobs and internships I've had that there are more than a few simple things that aren't being done. One of the things I always say is, "You can't know what you don't know." So on the off chance that you happen to be trying to make your way into the music scene and you've read more than your fair share of articles and seen dozens of hours of videos and you can't help but think, "what am I missing?", this blog might just be for you.
Music is a therapy for each and every one of us in some way and it doesn't matter where you come from or what language you speak, everyone should get the chance to have their music heard and their soul's stories told. The purpose of this blog is to share what I've learned so far and will continue to learn, in the hopes that it helps those chasing their dreams and potentially opens up opportunities that may have otherwise been missed. The goal is to make this a platform for anyone trying to make it regardless of how many followers you have on social media. Music is the voice of the soul and if it comes from deep within the fans will come, you just need to have faith in the universe and yourself.
Sending good vibes!
Soulless Ginger
